Repairing your fencing

Repairing your fencing can seem a little daunting to start with, but it doesn’t have to. Here are some tips to get you started.

Fence damage should really be repaired as soon as possible once it is noticed as the damage could spread further along your fencing or potentially cause other problems as time goes on. This could result in more expensive or complicated repairs being needed as time goes on.

When inspecting your fence, go along the length of it and look out for any loose timbers and posts. In some cases, all your fence needs in terms of repairs is a tap with a hammer on existing nails.

Particular attention should be paid to the fence posts, making sure they are still sturdy and are still securely in place in the ground. If you notice a post seems to be loose, it could well be worth digging out around it and adding more post-mix around its base.

If it is the condition of the post itself which is causing you concern, another option available would be to fit a concrete spur in order to further bolster the fence.
