75mm x 125mm Incised Fence Posts
Discover Walford Timber’s 75mm x 125mm incised treated…
Our PermaTimber® post and pressure treated rail timber fencing is a traditional fencing solution that creates a typical rural look. It is a popular choice for properties with large gardens, fields and paddocks, and a low-cost option when you don’t want to restrict the view of your surroundings.
Post and rail timber fencing is often used for traditional fencing purposes, to mark a boundary or restrict the movement of animals. Ours is not only functional but also mindful of the environment – both our posts and our rails fencing are tanalised for long life and durability.
Post and rail fencing is usually installed for its strength, and we sell one of the strongest post and rail fencing on the market – our pressure treated rails have a guarantee of 10 years and our PermaTimber® posts come with a 15-year guarantee.
Our PermaTimber® posts and timber rails can be sawn to create straight edges for a square cut finish. In addition, we also offer half round rails, round timber posts, stakes and strainers, and our unique D shape rail which makes an ideal hand rail as well as a fence rail.
Making a pet or small animal enclosure? Try adding galvanised wire stock fencing to your post and rail fencing. This method also provides support and protection for new shrubs and hedges in gardens.
As well as traditional garden fencing, post and rail fencing is also a great option for agricultural fencing and equestrian premises.
We recommend nailing your wooden fence rails to intermediate posts at 1.8m centres. The joints should also be staggered to ensure even distribution of the fence’s weight.
Alternatively, another popular installation method is to set the posts at 3.6m centres with a post in the centre of the bay, pointed and driven into the ground. The rails should be nailed to it, to help stop the rails from bowing.
Timber rails tend to be fixed with galvanised nails and if you are using the fence to restrict the movement of animals, we would recommend nailing the rail from behind so that the rail can be pushed into the nail if an animal leans against it.
We offer all the materials, tools and treatments you need to install your fence rails. We can also put you in touch with an installer or contractor to manage your post and rail fencing installation.
