Walford Timber, Ross on Wye Branch
Walford Timber's original yard and sawmill is in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, where the company has been trading since 1945. Every fence panel, gravel board and rail sold under the Walford Timber name starts life here, cut and pressure treated on our own 12 acre site in the Wye Valley, before it goes out to our branches in Cheltenham and Chesham, or straight to customers across Herefordshire. Order online for collection or local delivery, or visit the yard and see the sawmill for yourself.
Fencing Made and Supplied From Our Ross on Wye Sawmill
Every fence panel, gravel board, rail and post sold by Walford Timber is cut and pressure treated here at Walford, before it goes out to customers or on to our branches in Cheltenham and Chesham. Buying from Ross on Wye means you are as close to the source as it is possible to get.
Choose from lap panels, closeboard panels, slatted and decorative fence panels, all backed by a 10-year guarantee. For a traditional closeboard fence built board by board, we hold feather edge boards, arris rails, gravel boards and PermaTimber® posts, which carry a 15-year guarantee against rot and insect damage.
We also supply post and rail fencing, stock fencing, gate posts and agricultural fencing for the farms and smallholdings around Ross on Wye and the wider Wye Valley.
Our Ross-on-Wye Branch
Firewood and Kiln Dried Logs
Ross on Wye customers buy a great deal of firewood from us, and it is one of the areas where we hold the widest range. Our kiln dried hardwood logs and firewood crates are prepared on site and available for collection or local delivery in good time for winter.
We also stock ready to burn kindling and log stores built to keep firewood dry and well ventilated through the colder months.
Garden Sheds and Garden Buildings
Our pressure treated garden sheds are a popular choice with customers across Herefordshire, from our Premium range, built with features such as Tyvek Housewrap to keep damp out, through to simple feather edge sheds for everyday storage.
We also stock garden benches, arches and raised beds if you are finishing off the rest of the garden at the same time.
Timber, Plywood and Cladding
As a working sawmill, we supply far more than fencing. Our range includes C16 graded structural timber, sawn and planed joists, timber battens, and hardwood and softwood plywood for building and joinery work.
Cladding is another area where we hold strong stock, with feather edge, log lap, shiplap and waney edge finishes available for garden buildings, workshops and agricultural use.
Serving Ross on Wye, Hereford and the Wye Valley
Our yard sits right on the edge of Ross on Wye, so we are well placed to serve the town itself along with the surrounding villages, including Walford, Goodrich, Kerne Bridge and Symonds Yat. We are also the nearest timber merchant to Hereford, and we regularly deliver, or supply collection orders, across the wider Wye Valley, Monmouth, Ledbury and the Forest of Dean.
